Today we went to make terrariums with Hands On Brisbane at The Gardens Club in the Botanic Gardens Brisbane. What a beautiful location to get crafty. This is another reason I adore school holidays, today was all about being together, exploring, and learning something new.

Our days are filled with swimming, skating, reading and renovating (I should say the kids do all the swimming, skating and reading). The kids have had to occupy themselves a little bit too much these holidays, but I tell myself it’s good for them. Lots of home time, with a dash out to the park for a skate or a visit to the various locations for renovation supplies.

Her heart is bigger than her body, she loves like I can not imagine. The downside to all this love is a high level of sensitivity and anxiety, with age and maturity she’s gaining an artillery belt of coping skills. This big beautiful world is amazing, but it can be cruel at the same time. Lately I wonder about the world she will face when she’s older. I hope it is kind, free and filled with love.

January is her birth month, It’s talked about all day every day as soon as daddy birthday is over (December), until is finally arrives.
She’s cute, cheeky, funny and very clever. However she also has a strong bossy streak, and a demanding nature. These are just a few of the facets that makes her so unique and wonderful. I choose to celebrate the good in her, we can all do with more good in our lives. To look past the imperfections and see the flaws for what they are, only the tiny pieces that help create the whole. For it is the whole where the magic lies. We all have good and bad, light and dark. I choose the light. I hope she will too.
